The Diary of 'Personally Trained' Mummy, aged 30+, Week Two

Right-i-ho, so after my first proper week exercising, *ahem* I mean Training, how did I get on during Week Two?

Not bad, I have to say - I'd give myself a B+.  Or am I being overly generous? What do you think?

Week Two

Monday: Walked the 25 minutes to nursery, then ran back home from nursery. This week the weather was a lot kinder to me than in week one, so I did actually do the 'on/off' running as prescribed - 3 times 6 mins run + 2 mins walk, covering about 3.5km (as per my mapping it out on http://nikerunning.nike.com). Total exercise time: 49 mins.

Tuesday: Walked again to nursery - 25 mins. Then upped the running time slightly to 3 times 7 mins run + 2 mins walk - 4 km today. I ran all the way to Richmond for my inaugural 'pilates on machines' class! It was actually great fun, and although the 'machines' looked terrifying, it wasn't impossible and left me feeling so virtuous I bought salad, fruit and sushi (which can't be bad!). Total exercise time: 102 mins / 1 hr 42 mins!!

Wednesday: Yet another walk to nursery. Then moved on to 3 * 8 mins run + 2 mins walk (4.5km).  And then in the afternoon, I even fitted in 25 mins of my strengthening, toning and stretching exercises. Total exercise time: 80 mins / 1 hr 20 jmins.

Thursday: Thursday was toddler swimming. But nothing other than that.

Friday: Nada

Saturday: Travelling by train and tube to the Natural History Museum, and walking round it with a toddler....???? Does that count??

Sunday: Zilch!

So..... I suppose I sort of peter out towards the end of the week, but as I'm in full mummy-mode then and rushing round like a mad thing, I don't really have the time or inclination to be honest..... But maybe next week I'll try and fit in some sort of strengthening and toning exercises in front of the TV one night?  The great thing about eating dinner at 5pm is that it is FULLY digested by 7pm ;-)
